What are the library working hours?+
The library operates from 8:30 AM to 6:00 AM the following day, including Sundays, except on Institute holidays. Housekeeping time is 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM.
What does the library collection include?+
As of May 2026 the collection includes 70,389 books, 28,670 e-books, 32 national print journals, 3 international print journals, 5,231 national electronic journals, 29,941 international electronic journals, 34 magazines, 17 newspapers and 22 eDatabases.
How can I book the library discussion room?+
You can reserve a discussion room at the Circulation/Help Desk counter. The maximum time allowed for one group is 1 hour and a maximum of 4 people can use the discussion room at once.
What are the discussion room timings?+
The discussion room is available from 09:00 AM to 10:00 PM on library working days.
How can I obtain course textbooks?+
Visit the Circulation/Help Desk after receiving an email notification from the library.
Does the library offer orientation, trainings and workshops?+
Yes. New students receive an orientation, and eResource training sessions are conducted regularly, focusing on summer internships and other needs. Workshops on specific resources are also offered periodically.
How can I check my overdue fines?+
Log in to your OPAC account and view fines in the “My Portal” tab. Use your Roll Number, NTS No., or FTF No. as the username. Please approach library.head@xlri.ac.in for the password.
How can I pay my library overdue fine?+
Fill out a fine requisition form at the Circulation Counter. The fine amount will be deducted from your caution deposit.
What is the book overdue rate?+
The fine is ₹2 per day starting the day after the due date.
What are the circulation counter hours?+
Books can be issued and returned 24/7, except during daily maintenance from 06:00 AM to 08:30 AM.
How can I reserve a book?+
Fill out a reservation form at the Circulation Counter to reserve a book.
How can I renew a book?+
Books can be renewed up to two times if not on hold by another user. Visit the library with the book for renewal.
How can I locate a book in the library?+
Search the book in OPAC, locate its Call Number, and find the corresponding shelf from the chart kept in front of the OPAC system.
How can I access theses and dissertations?+
A few online theses and dissertations are available from providers like EBSCO and ProQuest. XLRI's own theses can be previewed in the library's Digital Repository.
How can I access Bloomberg?+
The library has a standalone Bloomberg system at the eResources centre. Please contact the library staff to register and get access.
How can I access LSEG Workspace?+

Search the Library Discovery Interface (Summon) at https://xlri.summon.serialssolutions.com/#!/ to access HBR articles and the subscribed eJournals and eBooks.
How can I get alumni library membership?+
Alumni can use the library's physical collections and facilities by becoming special members. Contact the Head-Library for more details.
How can books be recommended for the library?+
Faculty can recommend books for the library's physical collection. Students should get faculty approval for such recommendations.
